Health Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim has stated that the desired health destination cannot be reached without the cooperation of the entire society. The Health Minister said this while speaking at the opening ceremony of a special medical camp held in the second phase of Hulhumalé. Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim said that there is no greater blessing for a country than a healthy population. He said that the productivity and progress of a country are interlinked with the complete health of its citizens. As a result, he said, productivity will increase, and the country will become a nation where a happy population resides.
The Minister highlighted that health matters are not something that can achieve the best results through government efforts alone. He also said that considering health facilities as the starting point of health matters is an is an outdated and foolish idea. The Minister said that the work of a healthy population begins with families, communities, friends, and everyone involved in society.
“Health Beyond Health” is now the main topic related to health matters, according to the Minister. He said that all aspects of life are based on health. “The way sports events are organized is related to health. The way exercise classes are planned is also related to health. All these things are connected to health. We cannot improve health matters without considering these things. We cannot keep the population in good health without taking the necessary steps to protect against illness before it occurs,” said Health Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim.
In his speech, the Health Minister emphasized the importance of community cooperation in implementing the robust measures taken by the government to reduce tobacco use. He said that without the cooperation of the entire society, including those who sell tobacco, those who seek tobacco services, those who use tobacco in prohibited areas, and those who are obligated to take action against them, the desired health destination cannot be reached.
The Minister said that through such camps, awareness can be increased, steps can be taken to protect against illness before it occurs, and at the same time, the cooperation of all parties is important in implementing the policies being executed as a country to build a healthy society. He added that this will result in a country with happier citizens and a more joyful society.
