England Defeats Andorra

England won 2-0 in last night’s match against Andorra in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. With this victory in Group C of the European qualifiers, England has won all four matches played so far in the group, securing the top position with 12 points. In the four matches England has played so far, they have scored a total of eight goals while not conceding any. In this match played at Villa Park in front of over 39,000 spectators, England took the lead in the 25th minute with an own goal by Andorra’s Christian Garcia.

The second goal for England in this match came in the 67th minute when Declan Rice headed in a cross from Reece James from the wing. England’s coach Thomas Tuchel gave Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson his first opportunity to play for the national team in this match. In the qualifiers, England will next face Serbia away from home on Tuesday.
