
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that a beach handball stadium will be established in Kulhudhuffushi City. The President said this while speaking at a meeting with the residents of Kulhudhuffushi during his visit to the city. The President said that the Commonwealth Beach Handball Tournament, which begins on the 18th of next month, is the largest tournament of its kind to be held in a Maldivian island, and that this is a great honor for the people of Kulhudhuffushi. The President said that this is a tournament being conducted with significant expenditure by the government and that the council is making many arrangements to host the tournament in Kulhudhuffushi.
The President said that a permanent, covered seating area that can accommodate approximately 500 spectators at once will be established at the Kulhudhuffushi handball court. The President said that this is a major advancement for beach handball. Additionally, the President said that a large court suitable for playing handball and futsal will be constructed in Kulhudhuffushi City. He also said that all remaining work on the current football field will be completed within this year, and that he will fulfill all promises made regarding the sports sector.
The President also said that the Ministry of Sports is closely monitoring these developments.
