Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has appointed its former General Secretary, Nahil Ahmed Siddeeq, as the new Club Licensing Manager. Nahil briefly held the position of General Secretary of the national football organization during the tenure of FAM’s Normalization Committee. He is currently in Malaysia participating in a special workshop on club licensing. Since the former national forward Ahmed Thoriq (Tom) assumed the presidency of FAM, numerous efforts have been underway to strengthen the organization. As part of this, Ahmed Zareer, who has worked in many companies and gained management experience, has been appointed as the new General Secretary. He has also worked for a brief period in managing New Radiant Sports Club.

The national football has been suspended for over a year and a half due to increased corruption and conflicts in the management of the national football organization. To change this situation, it has been decided to start the new football season in the middle of next month. In addition, Thoriq has decided to expand football throughout the country, reintroduce the Atoll Tournament, and once again provide opportunities for teams from the atolls in the Dhivehi Premier League.
