Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze has finally signed for Premier League club Arsenal.
The 27-year-old English forward has joined Arsenal after Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur had agreed to his acquisition. However, Arsenal expressed interest in Eze last Wednesday with a £60 million offer, which Crystal Palace accepted. Eze has decided to move to Arsenal, the club he has supported since childhood, and has signed an agreement with them.
Arsenal’s £60 million offer includes £8 million in add-ons.
Eze was introduced as an Arsenal player before their match against Leeds in the Premier League last night.
Upon Eze joining Arsenal, the club’s coach Mikel Arteta said that Eze will benefit the club and strengthen their attack further.
“Eze is a strong and dangerous player. He will further strengthen the club’s attack, and Eze is a player who plays very intelligently on the field,” Arteta said.
After being in Arsenal’s academy, Eze began his senior football career with QPR. He then moved to Crystal Palace in 2020 for a fee of £19.5 million.
Eze received an opportunity with the English national team in 2023, and he has scored 40 goals in 169 matches for Crystal Palace. In the past season, he scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists.
