
Statistics from the Ministry of Finance, Development Planning and Trade show that in June alone this year, the state received 42.5 million rufiyaa in grants.
The Ministry of Finance has published the Monthly Fiscal Development Report for June, including the amount spent from the state budget and the revenue received by the state.
According to the ‘Monthly Fiscal Development’ report published by the Ministry of Finance, the state received revenue of 2.9 billion rufiyaa in June this year. This is a 20.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year. In June last year, the state received 2.4 billion rufiyaa as revenue.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Finance, the largest share of revenue received in June was from tax. Accordingly, the state received 2.1 billion rufiyaa as tax revenue in June, which is a 16.6 percent increase compared to the 1.8 billion rufiyaa received as tax revenue in June last year.
In June, the state received 844 million rufiyaa as non-tax revenue, while in June 2024, this amount was 622 million rufiyaa. Thus, this is a 35.7 percent increase. In addition, the state received 42.5 million rufiyaa as grants in June. This is a 151.5 percent increase compared to the 16.9 million rufiyaa received as grants in June 2024.
With the increase in revenue, the amount deposited into the Sovereign Development Fund also increased in June. Accordingly, 143 million rufiyaa was deposited into the SDF fund in June this year, which is a 53.8 percent increase compared to the 93 million rufiyaa deposited into this fund in June last year.
Land Acquisition and Conversion Fee, Lease Period Extension Fee, and revenue received as rent from resorts also increased during June.
In June, 2.7 billion rufiyaa was spent from the state budget, which is a 3.6 percent increase compared to the expenditure made by the state in June 2024. Accordingly, 2.3 billion rufiyaa was spent on recurrent expenditure, while 462 million rufiyaa was spent as capital expenditure.
