Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian forward playing for Liverpool, has been awarded the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year. This marks the third time Salah has received this honor, a feat no other player has achieved before. Additionally, the 33-year-old Salah has won the Golden Boot for scoring the most goals this season, as well as the title of Best Playmaker. This is the first time a single player has won all three accolades in one season.

Salah, who joined Liverpool in 2017, scored a total of 29 goals and provided 18 assists in the recently concluded English Premier League season. He first won the PFA Player of the Year award in 2018 and again in the 2022 season. This year, Salah’s closest competitors for the award were Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, Newcastle forward Alexander Isak, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

Although there were speculations about Salah potentially leaving Liverpool for another club last season, he extended his contract with Liverpool for two more years this past April. The PFA Young Player of the Year award went to Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. He scored a total of eight goals in 37 matches for Aston Villa this past season. He also scored four goals in the Champions League, including a hat-trick against Celtic.
