The President extended his greetings to Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and the people of Pakistan. The President said that as they celebrate their Independence Day today, he acknowledges the progress Pakistan has made so far. He also expressed hope that the relations between the two countries will strengthen in the future.
Pakistan’s Independence Day is celebrated on August 14th every year. This day commemorates the end of British rule in the region that included India and Pakistan, and the declaration of Pakistan as an independent state.
