
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the project for harbor development, land reclamation, and coastal protection in Kendhoo. The contract for developing B. Kendhoo harbor and land reclamation has been awarded to MTCC for 119.3 million rufiyaa, with a completion period of 450 days.
The main works planned under this project include dredging 9,854 cubic meters of sand from meters of sand from the harbor and channel, and reclaiming 112,016 square meters of land. Additionally, the project involves constructing a 278-meter quay wall, installing 10 mooring buoys, and building a ramp. The project also includes constructing a jetty, installing 62 meters of revetment, 29 meters of channel revetment, and erecting 9 harbor lights. Furthermore, the project encompasses installing 2 channel lights and laying a 5-meter wide pavement around the quay wall.

The contract was awarded to the company during a meeting held by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu with the people of Kendhoo. The agreement for these works was signed by the Minister of Construction, Dr. Abdullah Muttalib, and MTCC’s Managing Director, Ahmed Saudee.
