According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, resorts remain the most preferred accommodation choice for visitors to the Maldives. Of the more than 1.2 million tourists who have visited the country so far this year, 73.1% opted to stay in resorts.
The data reveals that tourists from the United Kingdom represent the highest number of resort guests. Switzerland followed in second place, with Russia ranking as the third-largest source market for resort stays. Currently, there are 184 resorts operating across the Maldives, accounting for 66% of the nation’s total tourist bed capacity.
