The People’s National Congress (PNC) parliamentary group, which holds a super-majority in Parliament, has passed a resolution and collected the necessary signatures to remove Deputy Speaker Ahmed Nazim from his post.
Following this decision, Nazim has been removed from the parliamentary group’s official WhatsApp communication channel. The move to oust him comes amid escalating tensions between Nazim and the party’s top leadership. This follows his recent removal from several influential parliamentary committees.
Ahmed Nazim was elected to the position of Deputy Speaker in May this year, securing 80 votes from the house.
