The Parliamentary Group of the People’s National Congress (PNC) has decided to submit a motion to remove the Deputy Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Ahmed Nazim, from his post during tomorrow’s session. This move follows allegations that Nazim has been working in opposition to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the current administration.
The decision was finalized during a meeting held today, backed by the signatures of more than 40 members. As the PNC holds a super-majority in the Parliament, it is expected that the proceedings will move forward once the Speaker of the Majlis returns to the Maldives tomorrow. The session to address this matter is likely to be scheduled for tomorrow afternoon or evening.
