The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has officially commenced physical work on the project to develop six major roads in GDh. Vaadhoo to modern standards on the 17th of this month. Under this project, the roads will be asphalted, alongside the construction of pavements and the installation of street lighting.
Work on this project has begun in accordance with the pledge made by President Dr. Muizzu to the residents of Vaadhoo. The government’s current policy on island road development prioritizes the preferences of local residents and councils. While some islands opt for asphalt roads, for islands that prefer to maintain their natural sand roads, the government aims to provide the necessary resources and equipment for their regular maintenance and upkeep.
