The amendments to the Basic Charter of the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) were unanimously approved today during the party’s Senate meeting, with the participation of 1,064 delegates. These changes, aimed at streamlining operations and expanding activities in response to growing membership, include the establishment of a Council of Religious Scholars and specialized wings for women, youth, and senior citizens, along with 15 new committees covering key sectors. Furthermore, the amendments provide a clear definition of the roles and responsibilities of senior leadership and committees. Building upon various revisions made since 2019, this move represents a significant step towards strengthening the party’s strategic presence in the political landscape.
