
During a state banquet hosted by President Dr. Muizzu and the First Lady, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that he has instructed Malaysia’s Central Bank to expedite the currency swap agreement between the Maldives and Malaysia, moving beyond standard procedures. Commending President Muizzu’s firm leadership and the Maldives’ exemplary advocacy for justice, Prime Minister Anwar highlighted the significance of both nations collaborating on environmental issues. Furthermore, he confirmed that the “Joint Commission” meeting between the two countries will be held this year and pledged continued support for the Maldives in the educational and social sectors. Emphasizing the importance of upholding Islamic values and ethics alongside modern technology, the Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude for the hospitality extended by the Maldivian government.
