Over 9,500 Applications Submitted for Government Housing Schemes

The Ministry of Construction and Housing has revealed that more than 9,500 applications have been submitted for the government’s current housing schemes. According to the Ministry, the highest number of applications are for flats, with 5,993 forms submitted. Additionally, 3,234 applications have been received for land plots, while 418 forms have been submitted under the “Gedhoru” program. The Ministry further noted that over 13,000 applications are currently in the drafting stage.

The government plans to open opportunities for two additional categories on April 1st. These include a specialized category for persons with disabilities and options for individuals seeking adjustments related to previous housing schemes. Applications for all currently open schemes can be submitted through the “Hiyaavehi” portal until the end of April. These housing opportunities are available to both registered residents of Malé and those from other islands currently residing in the capital city.
