President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that development projects are actively underway across the Maldives, and that 2027 is set to be the year in which the greatest number of these projects reach completion. He acknowledged that some projects have experienced delays due to economic challenges, but assured that work would resume and progress in the near future. He also noted that certain projects may extend into 2028.
Regarding council administrative buildings, the President indicated that within approximately the next two years, modern council offices will be constructed on around 100 islands, with the facilities expected to be fully operational by mid-2027. He further confirmed that work on the Thilamalé Bridge is advancing at a strong pace, and expressed confidence that the Thilafushi Port — the government’s flagship development project — will be completed by November 11, 2027.
