
Following official talks during the state visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to the Maldives, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that both nations have agreed to initiate discussions on establishing a bilateral trade agreement. During the meeting, extensive deliberations were held on enhancing visa facilitation, expanding educational opportunities, and addressing the challenges faced by Maldivians residing in or visiting Malaysia for medical purposes. Furthermore, the discussions encompassed investment opportunities in the Maldives across various sectors, including halal tourism, renewable energy, and Islamic finance. Both leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to working together on the international stage to advocate for and ensure the rights of the Palestinian people.
