The physical work for the land reclamation project in Th. Gaadhiffushi has officially been inaugurated by MTCC. This project, which aligns with the developmental pledges of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, involves the reclamation of 11 hectares of land within a 10-day period, with a total investment of MVR 110.5 million.
Alongside the reclamation efforts, the project encompasses extensive coastal protection measures, including the installation of rock boulder revetments and breakwaters to safeguard the island’s shoreline. This initiative is a strategic effort by the government to address the prevailing land scarcity issues on the island, thereby fostering economic growth and social progress.
Furthermore, the government has planned several additional infrastructure developments for Gaadhiffushi, including the upgrading of the local harbor, the expansion of the health center, and the construction of a new council office and enhanced sporting facilities.
