The first group of 235 Maldivian pilgrims departed for Saudi Arabia yesterday to perform this year’s sacred Hajj pilgrimage. With additional groups scheduled to depart this coming Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, and the Maldives Hajj Corporation have jointly coordinated special arrangements at the airport to ensure a seamless experience for the travelers. This year, the Hajj Corporation is managing all arrangements for the 1,000 quotas allocated to the Maldives, with all logistics including hotel accommodations and transportation in Makkah already finalized.
