Fayyaz Ismail, the Chairperson of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), has asserted his continued dedication to the “Bodu Badhalu” (Big Change) initiative launched in collaboration with former President Mohamed Nasheed.
His remarks come in response to reports suggesting his exit from the “Bodu Badhalu” WhatsApp group after some members began pushing for Nasheed’s candidacy in the presidential race. Clarifying the situation, Fayyaz stated that his departure was from an informal group and emphasized that he remains steadfast in working with Nasheed to successfully finalize the “Big Change” manifesto, which aims to bring systemic reforms to the Maldivian governance structure.
