Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the “Addu Business Dialogue,” the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, emphasized that national economic progress can only be achieved through the unified efforts of all stakeholders, regardless of differing political ideologies. He highlighted that this dialogue is set to play a pivotal role in the development of Addu City over the next three years.
The Minister further noted that the primary objective of this initiative is to identify the challenges faced by residents and entrepreneurs, leading to the formulation of a comprehensive proposal to be presented to the Cabinet for resolution. This effort is a pilot project under the government’s strategic vision to transform the Maldives into a developed nation by 2040. The Minister also underscored that the active participation and cooperation of the City Council, various institutions, and the business community are essential for the success of this endeavor.
