The government is currently working on constitutional amendments aimed at capping the number of parliamentary seats and bringing significant structural changes to the state governance system. Key proposals include reserving a specific percentage of parliamentary seats for women and youth, synchronizing elections, and introducing a “preferential voting” system to enable the election of a president in a single round. Additionally, plans are underway to reform the composition of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC). The President has stated that the final implementation of these fundamental changes will be guided by the results of a public referendum scheduled to be held next April.
