Real Madrid has acquired Spain’s Alvaro Careras, who has been playing as a left-back for Benfica. Following the poor results of the past season and the Club World Cup, the position that Real Madrid is most concerned about is the left-back position. The club bought Careras after confirming that they wouldn’t be able to get Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich. Benfica sold him to Real Madrid for 60 million euros. Real had initially planned to buy Careras for 40 million euros. However, Real had to spend more due to Benfica’s unwillingness to compromise.

Careras signed with Real for six years. This means he will be with Real until 2031. His performance caught the eye of major European clubs last season, especially during the Champions League matches against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid where he played exceptionally well. This season, he has played 47 matches for Benfica, scoring four goals and assisting five. One of his most special qualities is his ability to participate in attacks while playing in defense and providing accurate crosses.

Careras has played 52 matches for Benfica. He scored four goals and provided five assists. He played a total of 4,520 minutes. During all this time, he also received 20 yellow cards. With Careras’ acquisition, Real is now considering selling either Fran Garcia or Ferland Mendy.
