Manchester United has made an offer of over 60 million pounds for Brentford’s forward Bryan Mbeumo of the English Premier League. Earlier this month, Manchester United initially offered 45 million pounds plus 10 million pounds in add-ons for the 25-year-old Mbeumo. However, Brentford rejected that offer. As United continues to pursue Cameroon-born Mbeumo, if he joins United, he would be the second player to join the club this month. Previously, United had acquired Wolves forward Matheus Cunha for a fee of 62.5 million pounds.
According to media reports, Brentford will not sell Mbeumo for less than 60 million pounds. In addition to Premier League clubs, Championship clubs have also expressed interest in acquiring Mbeumo, including Tottenham Hotspur. Last season, Mbeumo scored 20 goals and provided 9 assists for Brentford. Even if Mbeumo joins United, he will have to be away from club football for four weeks in the upcoming season. This is because he will be part of the Cameroon team competing in the African Cup of Nations, which is set to begin this December.
As United continues to pursue Mbeumo, questions have further arisen regarding the future of United’s Alejandro Garnacho. Earlier. Earlier reports suggested that Garnacho was not part of coach Amorem’s plans, and that he had been told to find another club. Garnacho recently posted a photo on his social media wearing an Aston Villa jersey with the name of his former United teammate Marcus Rashford.
