Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has assured that he will work to find solutions to the concerns of HDh. Atoll Council. The Vice President gave this assurance when he met with the members of HDh. Atoll Council today. This meeting was held at the President’s Office. During this meeting, the members of the Atoll Council highlighted the most needed developments for the entire atoll and the specific needs of individual islands in the atoll. As such, they emphasized the need to develop tourism in the atoll in a way that benefits the residents and the need to establish housing units in the atoll as soon as possible. The members also highlighted the difficulties arising from the reduction of flights to Kulhudhuffushi Airport.
Furthermore, the Atoll Council members shared the difficulties faced due to the lack of a proper waste management system in the atoll’s islands, while requesting to expedite the process of relocating the people of Hirimaradhoo to another island. In addition, the Atoll Council requested to release HDh. Faridhu for economic benefit and to complete the ongoing projects in the atoll quickly. The Atoll Council also assured their full support to this government.
Speaking at this meeting, the Vice President assured that he would pay attention to all the issues raised by the council. He also stated that in order to find quick solutions to the issues highlighted by the council members, he would proceed by consulting with the relevant authorities.”
