Saudi clubs have begun to interfere with Arsenal’s efforts to acquire a top forward.
At the top of Arsenal’s list of desired forwards is Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko. The 21-year-old forward had an impressive season in the German league. He scored 21 goals in 45 matches for RB Leipzig. Although the club is reluctant to sell him, they might consider offers from big European clubs like Arsenal. However, this would only be for a sum not less than 80 million euros.
But Saudi Arabian clubs, especially Al Hilal, are causing difficulties for Arsenal in this matter. Al Hilal has offered to pay 80 million euros to Leipzig in one go. They have also proposed to pay Sesko a salary that Arsenal cannot match. However, the player prefers to play for Arsenal.
But due to the attractive offers from Saudi Arabia, Leipzig is yet to make a decision.
Arsenal has been the team that competed most closely for the English Premier League title in the last three seasons. However, while Manchester City and Liverpool won the titles, Arsenal supporters believe the main reason they couldn’t reach the title was the lack of a top forward. Therefore, with pressure from supporters, Arsenal is ready to open its bank accounts to buy a top forward for the upcoming season.
