Although Manchester City is prepared for the FIFA Club World Cup football tournament, coach Pep Guardiola says he is not wearing a bulletproof vest. He said this as many people started saying that City would be the team to win the trophy due to the young players they have brought in and the experienced players in the club who have recovered from injuries.
“We had a very bad season last time. We didn’t think it would be like that. But now many people think we might win this tournament. But I’m not wearing a bulletproof vest. We could lose,” Guardiola said. Guardiola, who has won the Club World Cup with City and Barcelona, said that with the change in the tournament’s format, this is is a special tournament.
“Everyone wants to win the trophy. We are no different. Even if we get this trophy, it won’t be a successful season. We will start the next season thinking about finishing successfully,” Guardiola said. Jack Grealish, the most expensive player Guardiola brought in as coach among City’s players, is not included in the squad for this tournament. The club has decided to sell the player they brought for 100 million euros from Aston Villa. And if no one buys him, they have decided to release him on loan.
