Minister encourages team competing in Asian Beach Volleyball Championship

The Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Abdullah Rafiu, has met with the players of the Maldivian team competing in the Under-21 Asian Beach Volleyball Championship. The Minister encouraged the Maldivian team competing in the Under-21 Beach Volleyball Championship and wished them success. In a ceremony held at the Ministry of Sports, the team’s jerseys were also handed over to the players. This tournament is scheduled to be held in Thailand from the 18th to the 22nd of this month. The team competing in this tournament is set to depart for Thailand on June 15th.

The coach of the Under-21 team, Abdul Abdul Haleem, said that the Maldives is very well prepared for this tournament and that some of the players in this team have gained experience by playing in tournaments held in the Maldives last year. 38 countries from Asia will compete in this tournament.
