National football team defender Ahmed Numan (Helmet) has stated that the international friendly match against Singapore before facing Timor-Leste in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers was a great encouragement for the team. The Maldives will face Timor-Leste on Tuesday in the Asian Cup Qualifiers, with the match scheduled to be held at the Territory Rugby League Stadium in Darwin, Australia. In preparation for this match, the national team played an international friendly match against Singapore last Thursday. Singapore won that match with a score of 3-1.

In an interview given to “PSM News” after the first training sessions in Darwin, Numan said that the team’s training is progressing very well, and everyone is seen working together. He also said that having a match to play before the Timor-Leste match was a great encouragement for the team. Numan said that the national team has been working very hard on playing with passes, and that it’s a significant improvement for the team. He also stated that if they give 100 percent in the Timor-Leste match, the Maldives will win that match.

In the Asian Cup Qualifiers, the Maldives will play six matches, with the first three matches being played away. In the first match played away, the Maldives faced the Philippines and lost with a score of 4-1. As the Maldives prepares for their second match in the qualifiers against Timor-Leste, the match is scheduled for next Tuesday at 11:30 AM Maldives time.
