Odi Sports Club has secured the last spot in the final of the League Cup 2025 organized by the Football Association of Maldives (FAM). In the semi-final match played tonight at the National Football Stadium, Odi Sports won with a 2-1 result against New Radiant Sports Club, coming from behind. In the first half, New Radiant took the lead by scoring the first goal in the 38th minute of the match. This goal was scored for the team by Moosa Yameen (Yanbe). Odi also created several goal-scoring opportunities in the first half. For instance,, Haisam Rasheed (Hai) attempted to aim a ball he received from outside the area towards the goal, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out.
As New Radiant entered the second half with the lead, Odi made some changes to their lineup and strengthened their attack. As a result, Odi scored a goal in the 71st minute of the match, equalizing the score. This goal was scored by Ashour El Saeed from Egypt, who came on as a substitute, heading the ball into the net from a cross he received. With the score tied at 1-1, as the full time was coming to an end and the match was heading towards penalties, Odi scored their second goal during extra time, breaking New Radiant’s hearts. This goal came from a corner taken by Ahzam Rasheed of Odi, which Ahmed Nooman headed into the net from in front of the goal.
With Odi’s victory in this match, they will face Maziya in the final. The final match will be held on Wednesday night at 21:00 at the Galolhu Stadium.
