A white alert has been issued for the northern atolls due to strong winds and rough seas. The alert has been issued for the area from Ha. Atoll to Lh. Atoll. The Maldives Meteorological Service said that winds are expected to blow at speeds between 19 and 24 miles per hour, and seas are expected to be rough. The alert has been issued until 14:00 in the afternoon. Additionally, these atolls have been experiencing the effects of swell waves since yesterday. Therefore, the Maldives Meteorological Service has appealed to all parties to be cautious of the weather.
According to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours, some northern islands are expected to experience thunderstorms along with the effects of swell waves. The Maldives Meteorological Service says that the weather will generally be good in other areas.
