Maldives equalized through Valencia’s young forward Aidhoo Mohamed Javeez. After his goal in the 77th minute, Maldives took the lead in extra time with a goal from Ashham Ibrahim Mohamed. However, Bhutan equalized just two minutes later.
Bangladesh qualified for the semi-finals as the top team from this group. They achieved this with four points after drawing with Maldives and defeating Bhutan. Maldives earned two points, while Bhutan received one point. In the semi-finals, Maldives will face the top team from Group B. This will be either Nepal or India. The group winner will be determined after the match between Nepal and India. The semi-final matches of this tournament will be played on Friday. The final match will be held on Sunday.
