To To commemorate this event, some places in the Maldives were switched off for 1 hour. “Earth Hour” is an initiative by the World Wildlife Fund to raise awareness about global warming and environmental changes. Participants in this event turn off lights in households and buildings for 1 hour every year. This year, the event was held from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
However, in the Maldives, the event took place from 9:45 PM to 10:45 PM. Some government offices, institutions, and companies participated by turning off their lights during Earth Hour.
