Retired Brigadier General Faruhath Shaheer has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO). This was announced in a post made by the Privatization and Corporatization Board on “X” (formerly Twitter).
The first CEO appointed to MIFCO by this government was Samah Rasheed. He was dismissed from the position in May of last year. After that, the first announcement to find a foreign CEO for MIFCO was made in June. However, as no suitable candidate had applied at that time, the announcement was canceled, and the CEO position was reopened in September. Subsequently, Dr. Vitaly Lyubimov was appointed to the position in December. Vitaly was dismissed from the position on the third day of this month.
