President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated the members who won in the by-elections for Local Councils and Women’s Development Committees, where the ruling PNC party secured 33 out of 37 seats. The President shared a post on social media congratulating the successful candidates and voters, detailing the seats won by PNC in the by-elections.
The President stated that out of the 37 seats in the by-elections, PNC secured 24 seats uncontested and won 9 seats through elections, totaling 33 seats for PNC. He mentioned that in the by-elections, PNC won 1 Atoll Council President seat, 1 Island Council President seat, 2 Island Council Member seats, and 29 seats in Women’s Development Committees.
Praising Allah for this success, the President congratulated the winning candidates. He also expressed gratitude to those who worked to secure the election victory and to the citizens who participated in voting.”
