Donald Trump has been sworn in today as the 47th President of the United States. This is the second time Trump has taken the presidential oath. Previously, Trump served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021. Trump ran in the presidential election held at the end of his term. However, he faced defeat against Joe Biden, who had been the President of the United States until recently.

The swearing-in ceremony for Trump was held at Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., the capital of the United States. In the recent presidential election, 78-year-old Trump won against the Democratic candidate and former Vice President Kamala Harris with 277 electoral votes. Kamala received 224 electoral votes. As Trump assumes the presidency, the Republicans have gained the majority in the Senate, the upper house of the legislature, from the Democrats. If Trump completes his presidential term, he will become the oldest president in U.S. history. Trump will be 82 years old when he finishes his term.

The title of the oldest U.S. President is currently held by Biden, who is 81 years old. Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, has been sworn in as Vice President.
