The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has decided to verify the list of 4000 flat recipients instead of reviewing all applicants who applied for flats under the Gedhoruverin (Homeowner) Scheme conducted by the previous government.

Speaking at a press conference today, Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Abdullah Muththalib said that 6,000 people applied for two-bedroom apartments and 14,000 people applied for three-bedroom apartments under the Gedhoruverin Scheme. He said that efforts were made to re-evaluate these applications and release the final list over the past 14 months, but major issues arose, causing delays in publicizing the flat list.
