President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has given assurance that a new ice plant will be brought to GA. Dhevvadhoo and that the issues of the harbor, coastal erosion, and waste management site of the island will be resolved. Speaking during his visit to Dhevvadhoo today, he said that there are very important issues in Dhevvadhoo that need to be addressed with attention. In this regard, he said that finding a solution to address the major issue of coastal erosion, harbor, and waste management site together would be the best approach.

“We will work to bring a good solution to this within this year’s budget. I urge the council to work with the Ministry of Construction to find a comprehensive solution that addresses these three issues together. And when the work resumes, I will provide all the necessary support from the government to bring a solution that addresses the issue of coastal erosion and the problem of limited harbor space, while also increasing land area and solving the waste management site issue. This will benefit fishermen and provide relief to the people,” the President said.
Some promises made by the President to Dhevvadhoo:
– Establishing additional facilities at the health center
– Providing a multipurpose hall for the school
– Building a volleyball court
– Completing the work of laying turf on the field
– Work on an outdoor gym
– Repairing the ice plant and bringing a new ice plant
– Sea ambulance service
– Continuing the work on the city hotel
In addition, the President said that fishing is a sector in which many Dhevvadhoo residents are involved. He said that the government is working to fulfill the difficulties and hopes faced by fishermen. In this regard, the President said that they have fulfilled the promise of paying within 48 hours and are now paying regularly.

“In the future, we will continue to complete the remaining matters with the input of fishermen. We want to expand the fishing industry by seeking foreign aid and through the government budget, paving the way for fishermen to advance in the industry and encouraging more parties to enter the industry. The dangerous events and incidents happening around the world are not so closely linked to this industry. What we have at hand to develop is our lifeline. If we work properly, fishing can be made into an industry that can bring the highest income in terms of GDP ratio and bring prosperity to the people. The government is working with this vision alongside the fishermen,” the President said.
The President said that he wants to come directly to the people to clarify matters and do things because he wants to provide services as the people want. He said it is to do things in line with the pulse of the people.
