Malaysia Extends $100 Million Credit Facility to the Maldives

During his official state visit to the Maldives, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced a $100 million financing facility agreement between the central banks of Malaysia and the Maldives. The two nations have committed to establishing a high-level commission to further strengthen bilateral relations. Discussions also focused on facilitating easier processes for Maldivian students and those seeking medical treatment in Malaysia, collaborating on climate change initiatives, and exploring potential oil reserves in the Maldives through Petronas. Furthermore, Prime Minister Anwar expressed high commendation and gratitude for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s steadfast policy in support of Palestine and his firm stance against Israel.
