Two fuel tankers that drifted from the Malé harbor due to severe weather and anchor dragging have sunk approximately 30 nautical miles outside Maldivian territorial waters after sustaining damage from a collision with a Sinamalé Bridge pier. All nine crew members aboard the two vessels were successfully rescued. Following a technical inspection to assess potential damage to the bridge, authorities confirmed that the main structure remains intact and undamaged. However, the original contractor will undertake minor repairs to address surface damage sustained by the bridge pier.
