
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to introduce revolutionary and holistic development to the Maldivian economy. Speaking at the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Global Business Network Forum, the President stated that his administration would provide financial assistance, establish digital infrastructure, and create a conducive business environment to help Maldivian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) access international markets. Furthermore, he emphasized that the government’s “Maldives 2.0” policy and the advancement of digital payment systems would help overcome economic challenges. Highlighting that small island nations offer significant investment opportunities in sectors such as renewable energy and tourism, the President also underscored the importance of collective cooperation among these nations.
