
Speaking at the SIDS Global Business Network Forum held in the Maldives, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu called for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to be recognized not merely as entities vulnerable to climate change, but as dynamic hubs for innovation and commerce. He emphasized that the compact nature of these nations presents a unique opportunity to serve as laboratories for testing novel ideas and emerging technologies. Furthermore, the President highlighted that the Maldives is leveraging digital technology to overcome its geographical challenges. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing financial support for youth and women entrepreneurs, while fostering a conducive environment for sustainable investments.
