
Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, has stated that the Maldives has emerged as a preferred destination for investments, driven by the government’s robust policies. The Minister highlighted that the new Foreign Investment Act, modernized after 45 years, will instill greater confidence among international investors and create significant growth opportunities for the country’s small and medium-sized enterprises. Furthermore, he noted that major initiatives such as Google’s submarine cable project and the “Aila Sustainable Township” reflect the growing international confidence in the Maldivian economy. The Minister also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among island nations to attract further investment.
