Under the decentralization system, it is a fundamental responsibility of local councils to support government-led development projects aimed at community progress. However, some councils have prioritized political affiliations, creating obstacles—such as refusing to allocate land—which ultimately hinders development and disadvantages the public. To address this issue, an amendment has been proposed to the Decentralization Act, allowing the state to reclaim land under council jurisdiction for development projects, subject to a Cabinet decision. It is anticipated that this amendment will expedite project implementation. Furthermore, it has been emphasized that allocating land for state projects does not diminish the powers of the councils, but is rather a necessary cooperation for the greater benefit of the people.
