The President and the First Lady have received a warm welcome upon their arrival in Ha. Utheemu to participate in the official activities marking the National Day. During this visit, the President will attend the official National Day ceremony and present awards to the recipients of the National Awards. Additionally, the President is scheduled to inaugurate the Boduthakurufaanu Memorial Gateway and a special exhibition depicting the National Jihad of the great hero. National Day is observed annually to commemorate the historic victory of Boduthakurufaanu in liberating the Maldives from Portuguese colonial rule.
