President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that construction of new council administration buildings on at least 100 islands is expected to be completed within the next two years. Speaking on The Pulse podcast, the President noted that construction work is already well underway on 55 islands, with those projects anticipated to be completed by mid-next year. In addition, preparations have commenced to construct council administration buildings on a further 50 islands under a grant from the Government of China. These modern facilities are being developed to accommodate up to 40 staff members, and will include a multipurpose hall, an office for the Women’s Development Committee, as well as dedicated services for passport and national identity card processing.
