Former President Abdulla Yameen has stated that, when compared to the opposition MDP, he would still choose President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Speaking at a PNF gathering, Yameen noted that despite his criticisms of the current administration, he would prioritize President Muizzu over MDP, which he claimed acts against democratic principles. Furthermore, he expressed confidence that this government would not inflict the kind of injustices witnessed during President Solih’s administration, and shared his hope of contesting the 2028 presidential election. However, Yameen strongly criticized the current government regarding issues of corruption, unlawful activities, and the practice of providing political appointments ahead of elections.
