President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to find permanent solutions to the challenges of drug abuse, gang-related crimes, and undocumented immigrants in the Maldives. Speaking at the official function marking Independence Day, the President stated that significant reforms are being introduced to the government’s internal policies and legal framework to address these critical social issues, with practical implementation already underway. Noting the lack of meaningful progress in resolving these matters in the past, the President emphasized that the government remains steadfast in its resolve to ensure national security and public safety, through the cooperation of state institutions and the citizenry.
