The Vice President of the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM), Mohamed Shafeeq Mahmood, has emphasized that ensuring the safety and security of workers necessitates a unified community effort. Speaking at the HRCM-CSO Partnership Forum held under the theme “Occupational Health and Safety,” Shafeeq highlighted the critical importance of public awareness and the active participation of civil society organizations, particularly as issues related to workplace safety continue to rise.
Furthermore, HRCM noted that such forums are instrumental in seeking innovative solutions to current challenges and supporting the effective implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. This forum, which brought together 30 participants, marks the beginning of a series of collaborative initiatives with non-governmental organizations aimed at guaranteeing a safe working environment for all.
